NRG-FX Inc and its partners will put leading edge economically sustainable energy-from –waste technology systems in aboriginal communities across North America. These systems use a Canadian technology developed by Montreal based PyroGenesis called Plasma Resource Recovery System (PRRS). The PRRS reduces greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by eliminating the release of methane from traditional landfills and reduces the need to transport waste to a centralized waste management site. PRRS is a very scalable solution with sizes ranging between 0.5 to 100 TPD being ideally suited for treating clinical, hazardous, industrial, and municipal solid waste treatment. The solution also creates clean energy from waste and/or allows for waste management to become energy neutral. The NRG-FX Inc Aboriginal Clean Energy Program will address a clear and defined market need and will provide a significant return on investment for NRG-FX Inc and its partnership group which is comprised of the Khanawake Economic Development Council (KEDC) , Continent 8 and PyroGenesis Inc.

Objective:

• Treat waste locally and convert it to energy and other usable products for the aboriginal community to reinvest
  in itself.
• Each participating aboriginal community who sets up the PRRS system in their community will receive an ownership stake in the project in their community and will see a return on investment.
• Each community utilizing the PRRS energy-from–waste system will receive training to ensure that Aboriginal citizens from their community are able to manage and operate their own PRRS infrastructure.
  

NRG-FX Inc and its partnership group will implement a pilot project at for the PyroGenesis PRRS clean energy-from-waste technology in Khanawake, Mohawk Territory Quebec, Canada.
